Rachel Leuthold is Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Freiburg, working with Prof. Dr. Moritz Diehl and collaborating with Prof. Dr. Sébastien Gros. Her PhD research is about optimal control of multi-kite systems in pumping cycle operation. She is one of the developers of the software package AWEBox for modelling and optimal control of multiple-kite systems for airborne wind energy. She co-organized the 7th Airborne Wind Energy Conference (AWEC) 2017 in Freiburg and co-edited the book of abstracts. She graduated from Delft University of Technology in 2015 with an MSc in Aerospace Engineering and a thesis on a multiple wake vortex lattice method for membrane-wing kites. She obtained her BSc in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
